What did you do this past week?

This past week, I was quite busy with my Computational Biology class. Additionally, I was putting in a lot of time to prepare for recruitment interviews for opportunities for next summer. Aside from that, I spent a good amount of time resting and getting ready for the busy weeks ahead!

What’s in your way?

Currently, nothing significant is in my way. I would say that I am satisfied with my performance in all of my classes and that I successfully handled a very busy 3-week long crunch period!

What will you do next week?

I have many tasked lined up for next week. First, I need to meet with my group for my Software Engineering class to develop the video for our project presentation and fully refactor both frontend and backend code for our final deliverable. For my iOS class, I will have to meet up with my team to put the finishing touches on our semester project and begin designing a presentation for our project presentation date. For my computational biology class, I will have to complete the second homework assignment and begin the final mini-project assignment with my project group. Lastly, I will have to begin preparation for the final exam for my British Literature course. Overall, it will be a tough week, but I know I can get through it successfully with proper time management and commitment.

If you read it, what did you think of The New Methodology?

The reading was quite interesting. I was surprised to see methodologies like Scrum and Agile listed in the article. I did not know that these methodologies existed in the early 2000s. My initial assumption was that these were more recent developments in the field of software engineering.

What was your experience of SQL?

This was my first time formally working with SQL. I found the concept to be quite intuitive, but I will have to spend some time internalizing the more complicated examples that were presented during the in-class hackerranks.

What made you happy this week?

I was able to spend an excellent Diwali with my family!

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

VSCode has an amazing extension called liveshare that makes your ide act exactly like Google Docs but for coding!
