This is my fourth blog post for CS373!

What did you do this past week?

I worked on my assignments for my iOS programming and software engineering classes. For the most part, this past week was quite busy; however, I feel like I’ve finally gotten into the groove of things and am on schedule!

What’s in your way?

Nothing specific is in my way surprisingly! I would say that my improved time management has really helped prevent any excessive amount of work from piling up.

What will you do next week?

Next week, my goal is to begin working on the semester projects for both my software engineering and iOS development courses. For my SWE class, I intend to meet up with my team and plan out the design of the website to address urban farming. More specifically, I need to figure out the 3 models and necessary APIs that will be used by our site. For my iOS project, my group and I will need to submit the proposal paper for our project, which is a sports info mobile app.

What was your experience of exceptions, IDB1, and types?

Previously, I have had experience with using exceptions and manipulating types in Python, but not to the level of detail that was displayed in class. I’m excited about IDB1 because I have some experience with web development, so I will not be completely lost while working on the assignment.

What made you happy this week?

My startup, tuktuk, was accepted into the Texas Convergent Incubator program! I am really looking forward to working with my incubator team to improve the student carpooling experience at UT and beyond!

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

For those who are looking to dabble in Kubernetes, Docker Desktop has a built-in Kubernetes engine that is really intuitive to use. There are Kubernetes platforms such as Kind for Windows; however, it’s not very beginner-friendly and does not come with a graphical user interface.
